Spruce Meadows, voted the 2002
Best Show Jumping Event in the world, needed to address
their spectator’s number one concern - a lack of
washrooms on site. ATCO designed this washroom facility to match the existing
buildings on site.
This project is technically innovative in that the interior
is complete with floor to ceiling tile, which had to be
completed in the plant and the floor structure had to be
extremely rigid to ensure the tile wouldn’t break
during transport to site (each module weighed approximately
70,000 pounds).
As well, this is an unheated structure and therefore has
a high temperature differential and frost potential, which
had to be accommodated for.
