This complex accommodated more
than 5,500 people during the construction of Phase IV of
the Escondida Copper Mine located in Chile's Atacama Desert
at 3,100 metres above sea level. Tecno Fast ATCO (ATCO Structures'
South American joint venture) overcame geographical challenges
to manufacture and ship 80% of the 900 required buildings
fully assembled, to minimize work required on-site. This
project also included the installation of sewage and water
treatment, electricity and other site services.
