Challenge
To build a construction camp capable of housing up to 700 personnel
developing the Diavik Diamond Mine at Lac de Gras in the Northwest
Territories (300 kilometres north of Yellowknife). The main access
to the arctic site is over rugged roads open only during winter
months.
Solution
ATCO Structures moved existing buildings and manufactured others
to provide this 700 person construction camp, which includes 17
dormitory complexes, kitchen/dining facilities and a full recreation
complex.
