Challenge
To create a permanent training facility that would have the appearance
of traditional on-site construction.
Solution
The 70 modular units needed to create this custom-designed complex
were built within a controlled factory environment at ATCO
Structures' Calgary plant, transported by truck to Fort McMurray
and assembled onsite to create a modern, open training facility.
Details
This 48,960 square foot complex is now called the Bob Lamb Industry
Education Centre, located on Keyano College's Clearwater Campus.
The project was a true triumph of modular construction and
was awarded first place in its’ category, Multi-Story
Complex over 10,000 sq. ft, by the Modular Building Institute
in 1993.
