Challenge
To build a permanent structure that would blend in with the client’s
existing multi-storey office building, as well as endure the harsh
winter climatic conditions and the warm summer temperatures of
the Sakhalin Islands (temperatures range between minus 50 and plus
30 degrees Celsius).
Solution
The truss roof was specifically designed to have a residential
appearance and to match existing buildings. The building was
manufactured by ATCO Europe in Budapest using typical wood frame
construction for northern and arctic-like conditions, providing
comfortable, high quality and low maintenance office space.
Details
The 21 modules (756 m2) were designed in an H-shaped layout complete
with a central common area and two separate operations wings,
which include offices and workstations as well as a conference
room. This open plan design allows workstations to be added if
the need arises in the future. This building was manufactured
in full compliance with SNIP (Russian code) and is GOST (local
building certification process) approved.
ATCO provided onsite construction management and supervision services
to assist the local contractor and Russian workforce with the site
installation of this unique office complex.
