Challenge
To build a temporary, relocatable building, that would be used
as a fire hall in a growing community in a rapidly expanding
city of almost one million people.
Solution
The ATCO Fold-A-Way metal building is connected to a four unit
modular building to meet the requirements of this project. The
Fold-A-Way structure was installed with concrete flooring, lighting,
insulation and cargo doors and is used to house large equipment
such as fire trucks. The crew quarters provide sleeping, fitness,
laundry, cooking and dining facilities for firemen on duty.
Details
Fold-A-Way
metal buildings are relocatable
and have been used for a variety of projects including retail
outlets, storage facilities and maintenance buildings. The length
of these buildings can be increased by easily adding ten-foot
long sections.
As well, the modular design of the fireman’s quarters allows
it to be expanded or moved, as the needs of the community changes.
